About OnWord - Committed to Christian Education

The Power of the Cohort

When students learn together in a committed peer group, their educational experience transforms. Here is how this cohort experience creates a dynamic learning environment:

1) Deepened Faith and Character Development:

Healthy growth happens in engaging community. By navigating their studies alongside Christian peers, students practice mutual accountability, develop leadership, and build essential, Christ-centered character traits.

2) Access to Advanced, Collaborative Academics:

High school subjects get tough. Our cohorts make it possible to offer rigorous advanced classes, labs, and unique programming experiences that are often difficult, costly, and/or isolating for a single student or family to tackle alone.

3) Meaningful, In-Person Relationships:

In a digital world, real-world connection is vital to the human experience. Our hybrid structure ensures online coursework is anchored by face-to-face fellowship, helping youth form lasting friendships that support their emotional and spiritual wellbeing.

Why Choose OnWord?

  • Prepare yourself for your next goals after high school with quality academics and collegiate experiences
  • Participate in a broader range of classes and receive college credits (low-cost or FREE!)
  • Interact with other Christian students in a caring setting with engaging mentors at a low student-to-mentor ratio
  • Discuss course topics with peers in-person rather than through online discussion boards or in local college classrooms without high school peer groups
  • When coursework seems overwhelming or too challenging, receive necessary  support and encouragement to keep striving
  • Meet other homeschool high school students and enjoy community life!

Partnering with Your Family

At OnWord, we believe that parent authority and the education of the whole family are paramount cornerstones of societal wellbeing. Our goal is not to replace you, the parent, but to walk alongside you. We provide a structured, high quality framework of commuity life that honors your role as the primary educator while giving your teen the mentorship and peer community they need.

Faith Integration and Student Life

  • How will the community foster a faith-based environment where students can grow spiritually, academically, and socially?
The community will offer relationship-building events each month or even more frequently. Students will be encouraged to take leadership roles in the faith community, such as leading classroom prayer or serving in community outreach projects.
  • What role will prayer, Bible study, or other faith-based activities play in the community’s schedule?
Faith-based activities will be scheduled upon interest by the local families and staff to allow students to deepen their relationship with God and each other. Students will be encouraged to participate in daily prayer and grow through weekly worship.
  • How will OnWord Community address the spiritual needs of students, especially relating to their mental health and wellbeing?
Students will be encouraged to seek guidance when facing emotional challenges, and prayer will be a key part of the community support system.
